1. “Hours of the Wolf” – Tribulation

“Hours of the Wolf” comes from Tribulation’s new album ‘Where the Gloom Becomes Sound’ which will be out on January 29th through Century Media. Tribulation instantly sets the mood on this track with dark, entrancing riffs. It’s the perfect song for the winter season. Unfortunately, this will be the last Tribulation album with guitarist Jonathan Hultén, who recently announced he was leaving the band. You can preorder a copy of ‘Where the Gloom Becomes Sound’ and some merch here.

2. “Scream for Pleasure” – Sister

“Scream for Pleasure” is the latest single Sister has dropped from their upcoming album ‘Vengeance Ignited’. It’s a super catchy track with a classic 80’s sleaze metal vibe that will make you just want to rock out. ‘Vengeance Ignited’ is the first studio album the Swedish metal band has released in 4 years. It’s also the first album with the band’s newest members, guitarist Phil Armfelt and bass player Fredrick Hiitomaa. ‘Vengeance Ignited’ is set to be released on February 26, 2021. We’re still waiting for word on when it will be available to preorder. In the meantime, you can keep listening to this single on your favorite streaming platform.

3. “We Are All the Same” – Misterer feat. Marko Hietala, Petri Lindroos, Matias Kupiainen, & Ben Varon

If you’ve been keeping up with my NMM posts each week, you know I’m always ready for new thrash metal. That’s exactly what Finland’s Misterer bring us this week with their heavy new song, “We Are All the Same”. It comes off of the band’s new album ‘Under Attack’ which is out now. For merch and album orders, check out the band’s store.

4. “Snake Eye” – Saint Raven

Salt Lake City’s Saint Raven brings us a heavy new track this week with “Snake Eye”. This song slightly reminds me of Nine Inch Nails just before the chorus crashes in. It’s a track that will make you want to move, making it a great way to start a Monday. There’s no word yet on if Saint Raven will be dropping an album so make sure to follow them on Instagram to stay updated.

5. “Kill Me” – Cane Hill

“Kill Me” is probably one of, if not THE heaviest song in Cane Hill’s discography. It’s the 2nd single the band has released in 2020 following “Power of the High”. These Louisiana boys are becoming quite the masters of making a song so intense it’s almost scary, and I love every second of it. Cane Hill hasn’t released any details about a new album yet, but they do have merch up for grabs in the meantime. We’ll keep jamming to this track while we wait. Just make sure not to break your neck on this one, okay?

6. “Aiga” – Shepherds Reign

“Aiga” was the first new track this weekend that as soon as I heard it, I knew I would be including it on this week’s playlist. The lyrics are actually in Samoan but Shepherds Reign gives a translation here in their Youtube video’s description. The message in “Aiga” is clear and one that could not be more important in 2020: family is of the utmost importance. We’re waiting to see if Shepherds Reign will be dropping an album. In the meantime, make sure to give them a follow on Instagram so you don’t miss out on future releases.
