A Band Tee Dress To Slay The Holidays: OOTD

December 16, 2020

In the rural area I’m from alternative culture is much harder to come by, especially alternative fashion. Because of this, social media has been my go to for finding small alternative brands that have exactly what I’m into. Over the years, I’ve picked up several different Slayer band tops, but never a dress. That was until I laid my eyes on this awesome Slayer band tee dress, and the rest is history.

The Slayer Band Tee Dress

I will be the first to admit, I always get a little nervous about sizing when shopping with a new brand online. This is 100% due to my bra size. I’m a 34DDD and, while I typically wear a medium in everything, sometimes the way a top or dress is cut affects whether it’s going to work out. This Slayer band tee dress from Cosmic Kristen’s Creations was listed as a M/L, along with the specific measurements. I was certain it would fit (at least I wanted it to 🤣), but those insecurities held me back until I finally hit the add to cart button . When it arrived, it fit like a glove.

My favorite part about this dress is the studded straps and studded crossfront neckline. It shows just an extra little bit of cleavage while still giving me enough coverage to feel comfortable. The very bottom of the dress is also studded.

Cosmic Kristen’s Creations has a bunch of awesome heavy music inspired clothing in a variety of sizes, including plus sizes, and homeware in her shop. In addition to that though, she also has a YouTube channel where she teaches you how to make them. I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you’re someone that knows how to sew and want to repurpose your old band tees.

Shoes and Accessories

I love anything studded and since this dress already had those accents, I had to pair it with these studded shoes from Killstar. Since the cold weather is here, I also wore my Killstar tights to keep me warm. This exact pair of tights and shoes aren’t listed on their site anymore, but they do have similar styles available. With that being said, you can find similar lace style tights from various retailers (including places like Walmart) that would work with this look.

Shoes and Tights

I kept things simple with the jewelry by adding just my new lightning bolt earrings from Rocker Babe Shop. My ears can’t handle anything heavy and certain materials will irritate them, but I had no issues with these earrings. They’re so lightweight that I actually had them in all day and forgot I was wearing them.
