Before we get started, don’t forget to listen along with my Spotify playlist. All of these songs are lined up for you there so all you’ll need to do is hit play.

1. “Ride Into the Light” – Spirit Adrift

“Ride Into the Light” comes off of Spirit Adrift’s new album ‘Enlightened In Eternity’. I loved what the band had dropped prior to this album being released, and this track is no exception. Every instrument in “Ride Into the Light” shines and it all flows consistently throughout. ‘Enlightened In Eternity’ is out now through Century Media. You can pick it up here along with some cool new merch.

2. “Hard To Kill” – Raging Speedhorn

From the first “Cause I’m hard to kill” scream, this song immediately sucked me in. ‘Hard To Kill’ is the title track from Raging Speedhorn’s new album due out on October 23rd through Red Weed Records. This is the first album recorded with the band’s new vocalist, Dan Cook. “Hard To Kill” is a fast paced, adrenaline filled track. Or more specifically, if you could put the effects of Red Bull into a song, this is it. You can preorder a copy of Raging Speedhorn’s new album here.

3. “I Don’t Want To Be Afraid Anymore” – Prison

“I Don’t Want To Be Afraid Anymore” is a fitting track for 2020, to say the least. It’s a track that is unrelentingly brutal from beginning to end. This song is also one that’s bound to get stuck in your head. Pick up some Prison merch here so they can keep delivering us intensely heavy tracks like this.

4. “Devil’s Head” – Nicolas Cage Fighter

Speaking of intensely heavy, that’s a great way to describe Nicolas Cage Fighter’s new song “Devil’s Head”. It’s the title track from the Australian heavy hardcore band’s upcoming EP. The EP will be a concept piece specifically addressing depression and mental health. The band said in a statement that this song is about depression symptoms and it’s effects that come and go within you, as if the devil were rearing it’s head. This track and the band’s prior single release “Black Jackal” are available to stream now. Make sure to give them a follow on Instagram to stay up to date on the EP release.

5. “No Sympathy” – Bite Down

Bite Down just released their debut EP ‘Trial // Error’ which is where you’ll find “No Sympathy”. Bite Down kind of reminds me of Static X on this track, especially vocally, except much heavier. This song is also impossible not to headbang to. There is a breakdown in here towards the end that makes that undeniable. ‘Trial // Error’ is available to stream now. I would also recommend giving Bite Down a follow on Instagram so you don’t miss out on their future releases.

6. “The Forest Dark” – Green Druid

A perfect track for spooky season, Green Druid sets a dark and heavy atmosphere in “The Forest Dark”. This is definitely a much longer track than most, but not a second of it is wasted or feels drug out. There’s just a lot of really great stuff going on here and it’s an amazing piece of music. This track will be on Green Druid’s new album “At the Maw of Ruin”. It’s not scheduled to be released through Earache Records until December 4th, but you can preorder it here in the meantime.
