“Fuoco” – After Smoke Clears
After Smoke Clears makes their return this week with their brutally heavy new single, “Fuoco”, which is the Italian word for “fire”, a nod to the Italian roots within the band. From a listener’s perspective, After Smoke Clears embodies what the song represents. They hold nothing back, releasing deep, gritty intensity throughout. If you’re a fan of bands like Parkway Drive, “Fuoco” is a song you’ll definitely want to have on your playlist.
The band says, “Fuoco” is about unlocking the creative fire we all have inside, which lays dormant in most cases unless ignited. The central theme of “Fuoco” is addressing how to ignite the fire.” This song will also be making its live debut at the band’s upcoming show on June 25th at The Black Heart in London. For tickets to that show, as well as links to pick up some After Smoke Clears merch and stream their other releases, head over to the band’s website. And make sure to check out the video for “Fuoco” below!
“Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend” – Powerwolf feat. Alissa White-Gluz
Powerwolf’s upcoming album Call Of The Wild, which drops July 9th, will have several versions that include a bonus album, Missa Cantorem. The tracks on Missa Cantorem revisit Powerwolf’s previously released songs and give them new life by adding new vocalists. That’s how this reworked version of their 2018 release “Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend” with Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz came to be. As the haunting anthem we all needed, this song is bound to have you banging your head and pounding your fist in the air! Preorders for Call Of The Wild are available here.
“G.A.A.D.” – Go Ahead And Die
“G.A.A.D.” is the title track off of Go Ahead And Die’s debut, self titled album which has finally be unleashed onto the world. Not only is this song impossible not to headbang to, but it’s dark and doomy atmosphere further intensifies its heaviness. Go Ahead And Die is available everywhere now. Physical copies are available here.
“Rotten” – Machine Head
“Rotten” is just one wildly heavy piece of the new three track digital single from Machine Head, Arrows In Words From The Sky. It reminds me very much of old school Machine Head, and I’m all for it. With its equally explosive and vicious energy, I’m certain this is one the pit will go crazy for. Besides Spotify, you can listen to Arrows In Words From The Sky on these platforms.
“Novocaine” – Mammothor
Mammothor’s new song “Novocaine” is the high energy fueled anthem that will help push you through this week and beyond! It’s also one of those songs that’s perfect for summer because it’s so infectiously heavy you’ll want to play it loud with the windows down. “Novocaine” is the 2nd single the Boston based band has released this year, following their cover of Ra’s “Do You Call My Name”. (I highly recommend checking that out too!) “Novocaine” is available to stream on these platforms.
