“Truckload Full of Bodies” & More! : NMM 3/22/21

March 22, 2021

Hello and Happy New Music Monday! This week things are getting brutally heavy with the debut of Go Ahead and Die and their new song “Truckload Full of Bodies”. I’ve also have new music from Burning Witches for you and more!

Before we get started, don’t forget that you can listen along with today’s New Music Monday podcast episode here. It has all of these songs lined up for you so you can just hit play.

1. “Truckload Full of Bodies” – Go Ahead And Die

“Truckload Full of Bodies” marks the insanely heavy debut of Arizona’s Go Ahead and Die. It features Max Cavalera on vocals and guitar, along with his son, guitarist and bassist Igor Amadeus Cavalera, who also does the vocals. Zach Coleman of Khemmis is on the drums, finishing off this powerhouse lineup. “Truckload Full of Bodies” is the first single off of the band’s self titled album that is expected to drop on June 11th. While we’re waiting, preorders can be found here.

2. “Gore” – Evile featuring Brian Posehn

Evile is back, bringing us another glimpse of what we can expect from their upcoming album Hell Unleashed. In their new single “Gore”, the band lives up to their name with this dark and speedy thrash attack. It also features comedian and voice actor Brian Posehn on the backing vocals in the chorus. Hell Unleashed is the first new album from Evile in 8 years. It won’t be released until April 30th, but you can preorder it here in the meantime.

3. “White Nile” – Born Of Osiris

Born of Osiris delivered an absolute banger this week with their new song “White Nile”. It’s the first track we’re hearing with Nick Rossi on guitar, who initially joined the band in 2018 on bass. After hearing this, I can’t wait to see what’s to come from the band next. you can stream the new track or pick up some Born Of Osiris merch here.

4. “Drop of Red” – Depths of Hatred

Over the weekend, IndieMerchstore had recommended the new Depths of Hatred album, Inheritance, on their Instagram. More specifically, they mentioned “Drop of Red” as their favorite track and since I was already organizing my New Music Monday I thought I’d give it a listen. When it first started I thought I knew where it was going to go, but in just a few seconds, I realized I was wrong. You may think this is going to be your standard death metal track, but it’s certainly not. And just to be clear, I love death metal, but I think the new stuff from Depths of Hatred is something special.

I had a hard time choosing which song I was going to include from Inheritance this week. I have a few favorites off of it., but I ultimately went with “Drop of Red” because it’s just so freaking good. I’m a sucker for brutally heavy songs with melodic, dark, and doomy elements and that’s exactly how I would describe this song. You can pick up a copy of Inheritance here.

5. “Flight of the Valkyries” – Burning Witches

This beautifully heavy new track from Burning Witches has me melting into the floor every time I hear it. You know those riffs that just make your heart swoon each time you hear them? That’s exactly how I feel about the riffs in “Flight of the Valkyries”. It comes off of the band’s upcoming album, The Witch Of The North, which is set to be released on May 28th. Also, in this song, Laura Guldemond’s vocals are so crystal clear that it sounds like she is singing right next to you, especially if you’re listening with headphones. Preorders for The Witch Of The North are available here.

6. “The Conjurer” – Insomnium

Speaking of things that will make your heart swoon, Insomnium’s new song “The Conjurer” will also do just that. If you’re a fan of bands like The Crown and you like melodic death metal, you’ll love this song. It’s melodic, atmospheric and just really an amazing piece of music. “The Conjurer” is the first new music we’re hearing from Insomnium since 2019, while the band says that more shall follow. There’s no word on an album yet, but Insomnium does have some new merch up for grabs here.

Guitarist

7. “Amber Alert” – Budderside feat. Carla Harvey

Budderside teamed up with Butcher Babies vocalist, Carla Harvey, to bring us this catchy, but heavy new track. “Amber Alert” comes from Budderside’s new album Spiritual Violence which is due out on March 26th. It’s a rock anthem with some classic sounding elements, and it’s a must for your playlist this week. You can preorder or presave Spiritual Violence here.
