New Music Monday 8/30/21: Dead Slow Drop “SHAMPAIN” & More!
Ready to headbang? Listen to this week’s featured tracks with my New Music Monday Spotify playlist.
“SHAMPAIN” – Dead Slow
The UK’s Dead Slow are set to release their upcoming album, Crude Landscape, on October 29th. Their first single from that release, “SHAMPAIN”, is written from the perspective of the undeniably corrupt basking in their violent triumphs. Full of satirical venom, this no holds barred banger is the ultimate defiance track. While we’re waiting for Crude Landscape to drop, Dead Slow has some shows coming up. For that info, keep up with them on social media. “SHAMPAIN” is available to stream on these platforms.
“Darkside Demon” – Rival Order
Rival Order just released their new EP Beyond The Ashes, which is where you’ll find this heavy new track. Impossible not to headbang to, “Darkside Demon” is viciously aggressive while exploding from start to finish. There’s also a solid blend of harsh and clean vocals, as the instrumentals relentlessly boom and soar like a wild, adrenaline filled ride. Beyond The Ashes is available everywhere now. Listen to the Rival Order, keep up with them on social media, or pick up some merch here.

“What Artist Dies In Me” – Ex Deo
I think some Ancient Rome themed death metal is really what we all need nowadays. If it’s something you haven’t heard, you are missing out. I’ve been anxiously waiting for the new Ex Deo album to drop, and it’s everything I wanted it to be and more. It’s filled with epic metal madness, but one song in particular blew my mind as soon as I hit play. You know those songs that immediately just pull you in and have you saying, “what is this masterpiece?” That’s exactly what happened with “What Artist Dies In Me” the first time I heard it. The song has this eerie anticipation element to it that’s really cool, and it of course, keeps with the Ancient Rome theme. But this song also has those nasty modern death metal elements to it as well. Plus INSANE riffs, brutal vocals, and drums that will make your heart feel like it’s going to explode out of your chest. Ex Deo’s new album The Thirteen Years of Nero is available everywhere now. Pre-order a copy or pick up some Ex Deo merch here.
“Set You Free” – Black Label Society
Black Label Society have announced they will release their new album, Doom Crew Inc., on November 26th. “Set You Free” is the first single off of that release, and it’s awesome. This crushingly heavy song grooves and shreds. There’s also an otherworldly guitar solo trade off in here that every heavy music fan should hear. Pre-order or pre-save Doom Crew Inc. here.
“Invisible Enemy” – Spirit Adrift
Spirit Adrift have finally unleashed their new EP, Forge Your Future, onto the world, and it’s as awesome as I hoped it’d be. In my house, the band has earned a new nickname with this release- The Lords of Sweet Riffage. That title was solidified by the EP’s final track, “…Invisible Enemy.” Clocking in at 7 minutes and 31 seconds, this transcendent anthem is like taking a trip through the heavy metal galaxy, where the riffs fuel your journey even further. Stream or order Spirit Adrift’s new EP, Forge Your Future, here.
