“The Writing On The Wall” – Iron Maiden

When a band as iconic as Iron Maiden returns after 6 years with no new music, you expect the first single to be something fast paced. Ordinarily, the song would have that classic metal feel whilst still being just radio friendly enough. But this isn’t any ordinary band we’re talking about. It’s Iron fucking Maiden, and they don’t follow the music industry’s rules; they make them. You may think you have Iron Maiden figured out. At least until you hear “The Writing On The Wall”, which proves there’s still so much more to this band.

The acoustic intro followed by the country style instrumentals will definitely catch you off guard as an Iron Maiden fan. What shouldn’t, though, is the fact that Iron Maiden nails it. This would be an impressive comeback song for any band, but Iron Maiden is probably the only band that could do it so well. Iron Maiden also released a music video for this new track which is full of Easter eggs any fan will enjoy finding. Watch the video for “The Writing On The Wall” here on YouTube.

“Apes of God” – Sepultura feat. Rob Cavestany

The world may have pretty much been on pause in 2020 thanks to the pandemic, but that didn’t stop Sepultura from keeping busy. Early last year they started a video podcast, SepulQuarta, where they not only chat with other renowned musicians, but also perform a Sepultura track with their guest. The band is now releasing an album on August 13th featuring those collaborations. That’s where you’ll find this version of “Apes of God”, which features Death Angel’s Rob Cavestany. Preorder Sepultura’s new live album, SepulQuarta, here.

“Means to No War” – Dear Mother

“Means to No War” comes off of Dear Mother’s newly released debut album, Bulletproof. This high energy, alt metal track is so infectiously heavy that you can’t help but sing along. Order a copy of Bulletproof or pick up some Dear Mother merch here.

“Zavali Ebalo” – Slaughter to Prevail

“Zavali Ebalo” is the latest track Slaughter to Prevail has dropped from their upcoming, sophomore album, Kostolom. Saying this song is brutal is putting it lightly. “Zavali Ebalo” is a nasty, brutal beatdown that absolutely explodes from start to finish. And just when you think this heavy hitter is done, it comes back one last time to finish things off. Kostolom drops on August 13th, but preorders are available here in the meantime.
