NMM Playlist 7/12/21: Featuring “In The Night” & More
Headbang along with me to the tracks featured this week by tuning into today’s episode of The Versatile Virgo Podcast on Spotify. It’s also the only place you’ll be able to hear today’s Mystery Bonus Track From The Past, so make sure to tune in to find out what it is and why we’re talking about it.
“Good Trouble” – Ministry
“Good Trouble” is a great example of why Ministry is such an iconic band, whether you agree with the political tone or not. They don’t just pull you into a certain atmosphere. Instead, Ministry’s high energy sucks you into an entire world, where the people are banging their heads and raising their fists. “Good Trouble” comes off of Ministry’s upcoming album, Moral Hygiene, which drops October 1st. Preorder it here.
“In The Court Of The Dragon” – Trivium
Trivium’s new song “In The Court Of The Dragon” has been a big topic of discussion in the metal community over the last few days. And that’s because it’s so epically crushing that it’s one of the best metal songs of the year so far. Trivium is a band that just keeps getting better and I expect that will continue for quite sometime. They’re in the process of working on their next album. In the meantime, watch the music video for this heavy new track here on Trivium’s YouTube channel.
“Purgatory” – The L.I.F.E. Project
“Purgatory” is the headbanging anthem you need on your playlist this week. It’s the newest single from The L.I.F.E. Project who just released their debut, self titled EP. “Purgatory” booms from start to finish, with vocals that explode and soar throughout. Order or stream The L.I.F.E. Project’s new EP here.
“Forge Your Future” – Spirit Adrift
Spirit Adrift has been teasing us fans on Instagram about new music for a while now. And with their last album, Enlightened In Eternity, being one of my favorite albums of 2020, I couldn’t wait for the first single to drop. “Forge Your Future” is everything I hoped it would be and more. It has that classic, traditional metal feel engulfed in an almost dreamy atmosphere. “Forge Your Future” is the title track off of Spirit Adrift’s upcoming EP. It won’t be out until August 27th, but you can preorder it here in the meantime.
“In The Night” – Phinehas
“In The Night” is another song that absolutely blew me away this week. Phinehas does it all in this track, from the brutally aggressive, pulse pounding moments to the soaring melodies. “In The Night” will be on Phinehas’s new album The Fire Itself which drops on August 27th. Preorder or presave it here.
“Itika” – Blood Red Throne
Blood Red Throne will release their new album, Imperial Congregation, on October 8th. “Itika” comes off of that, making it the first single under their new deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Deeply heavy and intense, “Itika” drags you into the darkest, most brutal depths of the underworld. Preorder Imperial Congregation or pick up some merch here.
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE TRACK!
Don’t forget to cast your vote below for your favorite track of the week. The song with the most votes will be on our list of The Best Songs of 2021.
