New Music Monday 3/15/21: New Music From Enforced’s New Album and More!

NMM List Enforced's new album and more

Before we get started, don’t forget that you can listen along with today’s New Music Monday podcast episode here. It has all of these songs lined up for you so you can just hit play.

1. “Inhuman Race” – RipTide

“Inhuman Race” is the ferociously crushing new single from the UK’s RipTide. It’s the first new music the thrash trio has dropped in 2021, with the promise for more heavy new music to come. The band also teamed up with ThrashedTV for its Youtube premiere, and in this video you can find out how to win some free merch. I also had the opportunity to chat with guitarist and vocalist Adam Smith about the new single which he wrote at just 15 years old. If you missed our interview, make sure to check it out here.

2. “Kill Grid” – Enforced

I know we’re only halfway through March, but Enforced’s new album Kill Grid is one of my favorite releases of the year so far. To the point that after first listening to it on Friday, I absolutely had to order a physical copy and I’m so glad I did because they were selling out quick. Quite frankly, it’s an album that pulled me out of one of the hardest weeks of my life. If you’re a fan of bands like Power Trip, you MUST listen to Enforced’s new album. The title track is an absolute banger filled with insane riffs, pulse pounding drums, and brutal vocals. You can find Kill Grid along with some Enforced merch and their videos here.

3. “Ultra Faust” – The Crown

I’m just going to start this with saying that The Crown’s new album, Royal Destroyer, is an amazing record filled with so many great tracks. I actually had a hard time choosing which one I was going to feature this week because it’s just that good. “Ultra Faust” is one of my favorite tracks on the album. It has a bit of a darker vibe which is what I love so much about it. That’s in addition to the fact that it’s intensely heavy. Orders for Royal Destroyer can be placed here.

4. “Crow Killer Blues” – Rob Zombie

Another vinyl that I had to order this weekend is Rob Zombie’s The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy. If we really want to get right down to it, Rob Zombie’s music could be its own subgenre because he manages to take so many different styles of music and turn them into something completely unique. It’s one of the reasons why both my husband and I are such big fans of his.

“Crow Killer Blues” is my favorite track from the new album. While the rest of the tracks all have that classic Zombie sound experimenting with a variety of styles including country, this one is a bit darker and heavier than I think we’re used to which is what makes it stand out. There are still copies of the new album available here. However, if you’re looking to pick one up I would act quick. As Rob Zombie said on his Instagram, “these things are selling like hotcakes!”

5. “Common Graves” – Defocus

Germany’s Defocus recently announced their debut album In The Eye Of Death We Are All The Same which is set to be released on July 2nd. Their new single “Common Graves” comes off of that, giving us our first taste of what’s to come from the metalcore band. The entire song is brutally heavy, but my favorite part about it has to be the drums. They add another level of intensity here that you don’t always get with metalcore songs. You can preorder or presave In The Eye Of Death We Are All The Same here.
