BEST NEW HEAVY SONGS OF March 2023

March 31, 2023

I always say “Versatile” wouldn’t be in my name if it weren’t for my eclectic interests, musically and otherwise. And this list of the top new heavy songs of March 2023 DEFINITELY speaks to that theme of my life. With new releases from Overkill, Invent Animate, and so many more – this is truly the playlist with a little something for every heavy music lover. There’s even new Winger and Last In Line in here for my classic metal lovers! And on the even HEAVIER side of things there’s new Jesus Piece, Fit For An Autopsy, Frozen Soul– you know what let’s just get I to it. Shall we?

All of that and more is waiting for you to heabang to in my New Music Monthly Spotify playlist below:

As always, some songs and/or bands from this month’s playlist have also been added to some of my other playlists like Underground Metal and Metal Women.

BEST NEW HEAVY SONGS OF March 2023: MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS

“I Won’t Obey Anymore” – All Against

With its sinister and vengeful sounding instrumentals I was immediately hooked on this new All Against song. But then “I Won’t Obey Anymore” kicks things into even higher gear when the vocals and instrumentals gain a bit of speed and heaviness. This song is one of MANY bangers on the new All Against album The Day of Reckoning. Stream it here on Spotify.

“Limbo” – After Smoke Clears

Roaring and relentless, this new song from After Smoke Clears brings the heat. “Limbo” is speedy where it needs to be and breaks down in all the right places. It’s a fun listen and definitely one to get you pumped with its infectious energy. “Limbo” is the fourth single the band have released from their upcoming EP The Fear, which is due out this year. Watch the band’s official video for “Limbo” or pick up some ASC merch here on their website.

“Black Leather Wings” – All Hell feat. Nate Garnette of Skeletonwitch

North Carolina’s All Hell is set to release their upcoming EP All Hail The Night on April 14th.That’s where you’ll find their latest single “Black Leather Wings” which also features Nate Garnette of Skeletonwitch. Fans of blackened death metal will love this speedy new song. But “Black Leather Wings” is also thrashy and nasty enough to attract all heavy music lovers, especially with its riffs ranging from high octane extremism to gloomy and doomy. Pre-order All Hell’s upcoming EP on their BandCamp page.

“GAFY” – Beautiful Skeletons

Short for “Goodbye And Fuck You”, “GAFY”, the new single from Washington’s Beautiful Skeletons, closes out the month with a bang. This track first hooked me with the smooth, r&nb like feel to the vocals with their emotive undertones. That combined with the ultra heavy instrumentals and some screams peppered in throughout, makes “GAFY” a sultry anthem. And I’ll definitely be anxiously waiting for more from Beautiful Skeletons. Listen to the band’s previous releases and stay updated on upcoming events on their website.
