Description
This Worms In Dirt recipe is my grunge inspired riff on the traditional dessert we all know and love. If you’re a fan of Reese’s, Cheesecake, and of course, Oreos, this is a must for your next Halloween party.
Ingredients

- 3 cups of Oreos, chopped
- 3 Cups of Reese’s Cups, chopped
- 1 tsp orange food coloring
- 2 cups of milk
- 8oz container of Cool Whip, thawed
- 3.4oz cheesecake flavored Jello pudding mix
- Gummy worms (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, add the Oreos and Reese’s and mix to fully combine. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the jello and milk, and beat according to package instructions.
- Fold the Cool Whip into the jello pudding mixture, then add the food coloring and stir until fully combined.
- In a large serving bowl or trifle dish, use 2 cups of the Oreo/Reese’s mixture to cover the bottom of the dish for the first layer. Then spread half of the pudding mixture over top to cover the “dirt”. Repeat this process again before topping with the final layer of the Oreo/Reese’s mixture.
- Once fully layered, add gummy worms as garnish. You can stick them through the dirt so they’re poking out or simply lay them on top. I like to use both methods when decorating.
- Refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight (preferred) before serving.
Notes
- Serves 8-10
- The orange color should deepen over time, but it’s possible this may depend on the food coloring you use.
- Leftovers can be stored in an air tight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
